3D Glasses - How Do They Work?

3D Glasses - How Do They Work?
With the current interest and development of 3D televisions and programs, many people are beginning to grow more curious about the technology behind it. This article will explain how the glasses allow you to see in 3D. And, with one exception, you won't encounter any technical jargon. So, read on to get a clear and easy-to-understand explanation of how 3D glasses work.

Why You Need Glasses To Watch 3D-TV

3D-TV glasses work by presenting slightly different images to the left and right eye. The technology is known as alternate-frame sequencing. The images are not presented at the same time though. Instead, the left eye first gets an image then the right eye, then the left again, and so on.

When one eye receives an image, the other gets blocked by the 3D glasses. However, the blocked eye doesn't notice because it happens too fast to see. It's like trying to watch the wings of a humming bird. They move so fast, you can't tell when they're up or down. This alternating effect works together to present slightly different versions of the same image. The difference matches the way your eyes normally see objects in the real world.

Why 3D Glasses Need Batteries For 3D-TV

Some people have wondered why 3D glasses need batteries in order to work. It used to be common in earlier forms of 3D programs that red and blue lenses were used to present a 3D effect. The old type of 3D glasses did not need batteries. The reason modern 3D glasses need batteries is due to the newer technology.

To properly render a 3D presentation without the red and blue colors, the glasses must be sequenced to the images presented on the television. So, when the image for the left eye is shown, the glasses need to block the right eye from seeing it. The same is true for the next image which is made to be seen by the other eye.

In order to make sure each eye sees the correct image, the glasses receive a wireless signal from the television. It tells the glasses when to block one eye and open the other. Once again, it happens so quick that your eyes don't notice they're being blocked back and forth. The reason the glasses need the batteries is because they power the tiny wireless receiver inside the glasses. It's the same reason your remote control needs batteries.

Will There Ever Be A 3D-TV That Doesn't Need Glasses all

The answer to that question is a resounding, "Yes!" Designs are already underway for 3D television sets that require no glasses at all. Toshiba is one of the companies leading the development. The technology is still crude and suffers from some limitations about how far away you need to sit from the TV. However, Toshiba is expecting to begin delivering properly working televisions by the year 2015.

So, for now, 3D glasses will be the standard for 3D TV, but in the future we can expect to be able to experience full 3D effects without glasses in our living room.    4.5

The Best Price Of 3D TV

The Best Price Of 3D TV
Undeniably 3D technology is the newest trend in the television industry. Various television manufacturers have successfully brought three dimensional viewing right in the comfort of our homes. Questions regarding the 3D TV price have continually surfaced. Indeed consumers have also anticipated that this technology comes in a high price. Consumers would want the best bargain for their hard earned money. The 3D TV price varies depending on the manufacturer, quality, and the components of the TV 3D set.

Samsung has launched its Full HD 3D set with 55-inch UN55C7000 TV and 3D 240Hz motion technology, and shutter glasses. It cost approximately around $ 3,449.99. Samsung is continually propelled to mass produce 3D LED and LCD TVs to lower the 3D TV price. Mass production would lessen the cost of Full HD 3D set per-unit. This will increase the availability of 3Dtv for the consumers.

However James McQuivey, a principal analyst at Forrester Research, reiterated that mass production may be possible in ten years time, since 3D entails a great cost of technology. With the exclusion of 3D Blu-ray Disc player, the CES cost around $4,000, which is too expensive for middle class consumers. Even 3D glasses cost US$70 to $100 to accommodate family and friends in enjoying a favorite television show in 3D. Samsung's larger size 3D television costs approximately $3,000 while the 40-inch 3D television is around $1,800.

3D TV price of Sony ranges from $ 1,000 to $ 3,500. The 60-inch LX903 cost 3,500 while the 40 inch 3Dtv cost around $ 2,000. The set includes a built-in transmitted for the LCD active shutter glasses. The Panasonic's 40 inch 3D TV price is sold around $2,500 in the United States. Panasonic has cut down 50% of the prices to sell one million 3D TVs worldwide on its first year.

An 82-inch DLP equipped with 3D-ready viewing technology has been offered by Mitsubishi for $4200. Mitsubishi strives to re-define television entertainment by offering the latest in 3D-Ready viewing technology. Over the years Mitsubishi has offered their line-up 3D TV across the continent. The prices of 737 Series range from $1,499.00 WD to $4,199.00, while the 837 Series are from $2,199.00 to $4,999.00.

The prices of 3D television may seem quite expensive for the middle class and lower class consumers. However television manufacturers have high hopes that the prices will eventually decrease in the succeeding years. Similar to computers which are more affordable nowadays, compared to its price when it was first introduced. For consumers who can still endure the wait, then 3D technology could still be savored in movie theaters. However for enthusiasts who want to get their hands around the latest modern gadgets and technology, then every dime you spend on a 3D television is well worth it.

Vizio XVT 3D TV System - 72 Inches of 3D Flat Screen TV

Vizio XVT 3D TV System - 72 Inches of 3D Flat Screen TV
Another year, another Vizio monster screen, but this time it comes in the shape of a gargantuan 72-inch 3D flat screen TV. Last year's top model was the 55-inch back-lit XVT, complete with Wi-Fi, that came in at a very competitive $2K. Well fast forward 12 months this years offering with it's high-tech, high-spec and a whole 72 inches of LCD panel may well prove to be the most tempting 3d TV system.

The top of the Vizio XVT range, due out in August, will sport wireless HD along with Vizio's Internet applications widget platform and wireless-N all packed behind an impressive 72 inches of flicker free, 480HZ, 3d enabled, LCD and all for an amazing $3.5K.

For anyone with a smaller budget or apartment room then Vizio offer alternative 47 and 55 inch models. These have identical features including the 3d capability and in addition will sport a new anti-reflective to reduce that annoying glare when the lighting is not perfect. The 47 inch version will be priced circa $2K with the 55 inch going out at $2.5K. For some reason the company have not slotted a 60 something inch version in there, perhaps a decision they will rue in the future as I do think they might have missed out given the price point they have come in at with their range and the huge gap between the 55 and 72 inch models (and prices).

All three models will benefit from 3D displays with Sensio technology and those all important 3d LCD glasses are the latest offering from XpanD, the all singing, all dancing bluetooth synchronized active shutter type. A wireless HDMI adapter can be purchased separately, it has 4 HDMI inputs that will use the 60ghz band to blast HD signals out.

It may take a while to get use to it but it looks very much like this time around 3D is here to stay. Vizio have set a bench mark with the XVT 3d TV system range. They may not win any design awards but as far as large 3d flat screen TV goes, these prices will be very difficult to beat.

3DTV Technology Review

3DTV Technology
3DTV Technology

Have you heard about the latest technology for 2010 all Are you ready for it? The answer is 3DTV or three-dimensional television viewing in your home. This new technology is beginning to appear on the market and may be coming to a living room near you or maybe even your own. The top manufactures are now releasing the new 3D televisions to the public in 2010.

You probably know a little about 3D viewing. Some of us remember in the late 50's seeing movie films which required special glasses that you put on and the film took on a different look. It was very exciting as the action seemed to be coming towards you. Even with the film Avatar, that won a couple of Oscars in 2010, you need special glasses which were included in the admission price at the movie theater. So if you saw the movie you have already had a taste of the 3D movie experience.

3DTV Manufacturers

How would you like to experience the feeling of action coming toward you in the comforts of your own living room? It is most exciting to watch a baseball game and have the pitch come right at you or see the base runner stir up some dust. Just think how neat it would be to share this experience with your family in your living room. The manufacturers that began selling these 3D TV's in late 2009 were: Mitsubishi, Phillips, Sharp and Samsung. Now in 2010 you can add these companies: Sony, LG and Panasonic to the list of 3DTV's.
Sony released their version late in 2009 with the LX900, HX900 and HX800. The HX900 comes in 46 and 52-inch models. Viewing requires individuals to wear special glasses which come with the TV. The glasses offer a 120 degree viewing angle. Sony's glasses are powered by a battery and are synced with the television set. Besides Sony, Samsung and Mitsubishi have also released 3DTV's this year.

Differences With 3DTV?

One draw back for this new technology is that you need to wear the 3D glasses. Unfortunately only 2 pair comes with the TV; therefore if you have a family larger than 2 you will need to purchase additional glasses. This could get costly especially if you have a large family and you want to have extras for your guests that you may have over especially during the holidays.

As for interesting features, 3D TV's can be viewed in normal mode. Some manufacturers are also providing a conversion option from 2D to 3D. As the 3D TV's become more popular it is predicted that additional features will be available.

What Is Coming?

Samsung has partnered with Hollywood to debut films using the 3D format. Thus, when you see a film in the theater you may be able to see it in 3D at home. The media for such movies is Blu-ray. Initially there will be limited number of movies and programs that are 3D viewable. The number of movies should increase as time goes on.

As for the cost, in general the 3D TV's cost anywhere from $600 to $900 more than regular TV's of the same size viewing screen. As with any new product, the initial price is higher. The longer they are on the market, the more the price will lower.

The best way for you to get a feel for this new technology is to call a large shopping mall near you and ask if they have it on display. Seeing it first hand is the best way to know if this is something you want. Be sure to take your entire family with you. Their reaction may be quite different from yours.

Happy viewing!

Samsung UN55C8000 55 Inch 3D LED TV

Samsung UN55C8000 55 Inch 3D LED TV
I know it's a really "geeky" thing to do...have a circle of HD TV Buddies, but that's what I've somehow managed to regain myself with. The only reason I can consider of for this is that I fraction my excitement for HD TV with these (mainly)  Guys...and you know what us Guys are like when we find angry about something.

So, it was no surprise when I picked up the phone to a wildly Bryn in Seattle. I met Bryn at a TV trade point to in Seattle a couple of years serve and we objective hit it off over a couple of beers.

What was he so mad aboutall Del, "I've got a 3D'er" he enthused! Wow, we talked 3D a couple of months relieve after my visit to London, but I didn't mediate he was serious. "Yeah, I went and got a Samsung UN55C8000 55 Inch 3D LED TV" he enthused, "It's delicate, Del"! So, after sitting and listening to him go on about how incredible it was for a worthy twenty minutes, he finally said...

"Anyway Man, advance down and have a behold"

How could I possibly refuse, so here's my review of Bryn's unique Samsung UN55C8000 55 Inch 3D LED TV.

First a few words from Bryn..."It was a tremendous leap to "go 3D" and I knew Teri wasn't convinced, nonetheless I was couldn't cloak my excitement when my (sorry, our)  unique Samsung UN55C8000 was finally delivered". So, when my modern Samsung "C" Series arrived, I looked at the box and wondered what it would be like. The sales puff promises "burly dependable life 3D", "you'll be immersed in the action" add to that a jack pack that offered more connectivity than you could shake a stick at and this TV has it all. According to Samsung anyway".

"As Teri helped me lope out of the box...the first gaze - oh what a beauty".

Indeed it is, it's got a stylish slate gray surround and the blackest cloak I've ever seen.

I was fright struck at the sheer beauty of this thing!

First up Bryn told me it took a while to sort out. "Of course the kids and Teri wanted it on proper away", "but I'm delighted I decided to read the manual properly and do the residence up suitable, even if it took a while".

So, if you're getting a 3D TV, be prepared for some initial wound. form definite you prepare the family for the config time, especially if you've not attempted a recent TV, Blu-Ray and surround sound install before. obtain distinct they understand it's not honest waddle in and glance!

Fortunately Bryn is an organized and logical sort, so he did the sensible thing and sat down to read the manual - kindly fade!

This is what he had to say about configuration. "With the a stack of connectivity to sort out, including wireless connectivity to add to the surround and Blu-Ray, it was a ample job. There are also a load of "widgets" that you need to "configure". Things like Yahoo, YouTube and Flickr. For my money the manual is great - but I am technical, so I'm passe to technical manuals. But it was position out well and easy to follow".

One of the things that attracted Bryn to the Samsung UN55C8000 55 crawl 3D LED TV is that it has the built in ability to prefer normal 2D pictures and turn them into 3D. Bryn admitted he did obtain it a microscopic awkward to bag this working well though.

"I'm contented I took the concern to go through the pudgy configuration and to glean this accurate first time", he said.

Why?

When I had a behold the truth became distinct. The converted 2D images are not the best. The recount tended to blur quite a bit...I assume the technical term is "crosstalk". It was watchable but not great more, consequently our hopes for native 3D weren't as high as they might have been. However, when we switched to a suitable 3D source and the beefy force of native 3D came alive...WOW! That's all - WOW!

Although...there is another configuration matter to address. In popular with all 240Hz HD TVs there is the "Spanish Soap Opera" search for. No, I didn't understand either until I saw it. So, what is it?  Well, it's an overblown attain that the manufacturers reckon makes the relate witness more like the one you bag when you actually go to the cinema. Apparently there are lots of fans! Personally I catch that hard to gain because I like the describe crisp and definite - I like paunchy clarity!

So, the Samsung UN55C8000 55 plod 3D LED TV had to be configured and Bryn again had to dig into the menu system a bit to rep the "off" switch.

The wretchedness was worthwhile though as the beefy native 3D recount was working, it was almost beyond understanding - the 3D is fair improbable. Yes, I know what that sounds like, but you simply have to recognize it - it is incredible!

The narrate is robust and crystal definite, the 3D is fabulous and the Bryn's kids unprejudiced loved it. Apparently they've been watching Monsters v Aliens virtually non-stop. The promenade bit is shining (yes, it made me jump)  and the spot scenes at the commence are simply delicate. We also had a glance at Star slide which is also unbiased smart in 3D, especially when they dive off the rig. There was calm the queer bit of "crosstalk" even with native 3D, but it's very occasional. Overall I was very, very impressed. It's also comely impressive that 3D stays moral when you recede quite a ay to the side of the veil.

You might reflect going encourage to normal 2D after 3D would be a let down, but the corpulent 1080p and 240Hz accomplish for smart pictures. With such an incredibly shadowy hide the difference in the colors when it burst into life is almost beyond opinion I am completely in scare of the represent it provides. Deep rich but brilliant color, luminous, vibrant, lustrous, crystal, attractive, fine incompatibility...this is without doubt the best recount I have ever seen on a TV.

The bottom line is this, in my humble notion the C series Samsungs takes home entertainment a fresh and higher level.

Despite the strange bug here and there which Samsung say they will be sending a fix for soon, Bryn and his fantastic family are blissfully jubilant with their novel Samsung UN55C8000 55 accelerate 3D LED TV.

Bryn said "I paid my money and took my chance on going 3D and I assume I've won - large time".

"It certainly wasn't cheap to to upgrade the lot - surround system, 3D Blu-Ray and of course, remember you have to bewitch 3D glasses for the entire family!"

"But for under $4k we now have home entertainment far and above what we had previously. I'm not definite how long the "WOW" factor will remain, but at the moment I simply don't care because I'm loving it - and so are the family. apt now it seems worth every single cent!"

Having now seen the Samsung UN55C8000 3D LED TV in action I have to agree, and I now have to persuade Ali to let me upgrade as well, and that is not going to be easy as I only went 240 /1080 12 months ago!

So, yes, I recommend 3D as a certain "YES". Go for it I don't contemplate you will regret it!

The 7 Critical Steps For Buying The Best 3D TV in 2011

The Best 3D TV in 2011
Technology moves fast, doesn't it. The interest in 3D TVs and 3D technology seen in 2010 has shown no sign of declining so far during 2011, with the major manufacturers working hard to introduce multiple new 3D TVs to their ranges. Whereas only 18 months ago you might have laughed at the idea of getting a high quality entertainment experience from watching a 3D TV at home, but now the latest breakthrough developments in technology - and the resulting improvements in picture quality and the experience itself - are bearing fruit.

The latest releases of 3D TVs from the major manufacturers are ensuring that the technology is taking its place on the 'must have' list of gadgets we want in our homes, with recently published surveys of US based and Middle East based TV owners showing that they rate their 3D viewing experiences very highly, with the majority reporting watching 3D TV as a positive experience.

So now seems like a great time for anyone who has been considering whether to buy a 3D TV to jump in. But if you are venturing into the world of 3D TVs for the first time you are going to find that it's not a particularly straightforward one. There are multiple manufacturers, models, sizes, display types, and a wide variation in prices. Panasonic alone have 14 new models, LG a further seven, with displays ranging from 32 up to and over 70 inches.
w
The choice gets further complicated because there are different technologies involved in driving how the 3D TVs actually work. Plus you'll need to consider if it's right to wait for the recently announced Sony PlayStation 3D TV or no glasses models to hit the shelves. Add to that the issues surrounding 3D glasses and the questions over what content is available to watch, and anyone would be forgiven for feeling they're facing a bewildering amount of choices.

However, as with any series of choices that look complicated, there are ways to simplify and it all becomes much clearer when you start to break them down. In this article I'll try to cover each main area you'll need to consider when trying to understand 3D TVs and the technology that drives them. Hopefully this will give you a good starting point to finding out exactly which 3D TV is right for you.

1. 3D TV Technology - Active vs Passive all - Which One Is Best?....
We need to start at one of the areas of 3D TVs that is the most critical to understand, so let's tackle the technologies. Watching 3D TV requires the viewer to wear glasses, and will do until no glasses 3D TVs become commercially available. 3D TV without glasses is still some way off, and though there are models under development it could be years before one is available at the quality levels and price points of current with glasses models.

So when we look at the technology used in 3D TVs the choice you face is between active shutter and passive models. These terms actually refer to the way the 3D glasses work with the TV, and could have a huge impact on how you approach all the other choices you'll need to consider.

Passive models are a fairly new innovation, with LG Electronics causing a shake up in the market with the recent release of their LG Cinema 3D TV range. The passive 3D glasses are lightweight and cheap to buy, in fact very similar to the ones you get at the cinema. LG claim their new sets are flicker free and have significantly reduced ghosting, two of the problems which have traditionally affected the better known active shutter glasses TVs. The main drawback is that they work at half the resolution of active sets, though this does not necessarily mean that there are significant picture quality differences. LG's 3D technology combines the image presented to the left eye with the image to the right to form one picture with the 3D effect. The passive glasses then filter the correct image to the relevant eye using by use of simple polarised lenses.

Active 3D TVs use glasses that are heavier, more uncomfortable, and much more expensive. Roughly a hundred times more expensive in the case of some models. They need batteries as a power source whereas the passive glasses do not. They work by using built in shutters in the glasses to display alternate frames to each eye at ultra high speed. The speed in which these alternate frames are delivered creates the 3D effect, and the shutter glasses interact with the TV by using either a built in or external synchronisation transmitter. The main benefit of active technology is that images are displayed at full HD resolution. The problems, apart from cost and discomfort, are that they can reduce brightness levels and are more prone to producing flickering images on some sets. Another issue is that some active glasses only work with the manufacturers set they're supplied with, although there are some universal makes available.

Let's not make a big deal about these issues though, many viewers wear active glasses without problems and millions of sets have already been sold worldwide. Clearly they work, and work well.

But what about the end result, do active or passive 3D TVs give the best overall image quality?

Yes, the glasses used in passive 3D TVs are cheaper and more comfortable to wear. But does this spell out the reason why you'd want to go passive rather than active? Surely quality is the overriding factor which needs the most consideration?

Well, that's not totally true. There is another difference emerging between the two technologies, and that's the potential of health issues. The way the active glasses work - by alternately showing images to left and right eyes at turn - does cause headaches and occasionally nausea for some people. The experts say this is unlikely to cause real long term damage, though it's early days still for 3D TV and we may not be absolutely certain about that for some time. The reduced flicker from passive models does mean that headaches and are strain are less likely to be experienced.

But now to the quality. Definitely the most important factor....and the reality is that there's not much in it. The most recently released active 3D TVs from the likes of Samsung, Sony, and Panasonic have all been subject to improvements which reduce flicker and crosstalk. They look good. The LG Cinema 3D TVs have got great reviews in general, but the most telling reviews indicate that when viewed side by side with high quality active models, the active sets still just win out. For any of us who want a great 3D experience, it's clear that both active and passive 3D televisions will give us what we're looking for.

2. Display Types - Are Plasma, LCD or LED 3D TVs Best?

First it's a good idea to understand what these display types mean. The CNET article on 3D TVs describes gives a good basic description of LED, LCD, and plasma displays.

But for now let's look at the different types of displays from a 3D perspective. One of the major differences is in the processing capability or speed of each type, often known as the refresh rate. Plasma 3D TVs have historically performed at higher refresh rates, though LCD and LED 3D TVs have been catching up over recent years. Recent LCD/LED models work at anywhere between 120 and 480Hz, whereas the best plasmas are now operating at anywhere up to 600Hz.

This means that Plasma 3D TVs are able to show the full range of 1080 lines of resolution to both our eyes, although the difference in quality between the two as a result of this is only important to anyone who is looking for the absolute best. For many viewers this difference in quality is not critical, and is most obvious only if you set the two different types side by side and compare them. It could become more of an issue when watching fast paced action such as sports in 3D, but with most 3D content at this stage being of the animated movie type that's not a current problem.

The biggest differences in overall quality are apparent in three main areas - crosstalk or image ghosting, depth of images, and brightness/colour levels.

Crosstalk -or ghosting as it's sometimes known - is the slight blur you'll sometimes see around the edges of 3D images, and is one of the main quality issues encountered with 3D TVs. It's very similar to the effect you see when watching 3D images without glasses, and is caused by seeing the two images (which are supposed to be delivered at slightly different times to each of you eyes separately) too close together so they partly merge into one.

You can also encounter crosstalk if the glasses are not properly synchronised with the TV. With their higher refresh rates the best of the plasma models are better at eliminating or at least significantly reducing the ghosting effect, however LG's recently released passive 3D TV models - the LG Cinema 3D TV range - perform very well in this respect as the glasses don't need to be so well synchronised with the TV.

Other positives for plasma include its ability to show depth in images and give a better or wider viewing angle. These aspects are of course hugely important in the viewing of 3D where immersion is the key to a great experience. Depth enhances this immersive quality, and the wider viewing angle gives an overall better experience to the viewer.

But when we consider brightness and colour it's the LCD/LED 3D TVs that start to come out on top. The difference here is caused because plasma TV displays tend to show darker images, though recent top if the range models have seen improvements and yet again there's not much in it when you compare the two side by side. The LCD sets do win out though when compared to the cheaper plasmas with more clear and vivid images.

As a summary, it's easy to see that in the quality stakes the plasma 3D TV sets win out in most important areas, and generally perform better than LCD/LED. And it'll be no surprise to see that it's a Panasonic Plasma 3D TV - the PVT30 - that consistently gets the best reviews and recommendations.

3. The Manufacturers - Who Makes The 3D TVs?

Without the major manufacturers we all know, there would of course be very few 3D TVs on offer. There are nine major TV manufacturers that have 3D TVs in their ranges, and a handful of other that operate on a smaller scale. Quality varies as you'd expect, though almost every manufacturer has at least one model that has attracted good reviews, either from a pricing or quality perspective. The manufacturers have cleverly engineered their 3D TV models so they sit at the top of their ranges, meaning you get a stunning quality traditional 2D HDTV at the same time as getting the option to watch in 3D too.

4. How Big Do You Need It - What Difference Does Size Make?

Finally we need to look at display size. Bigger is generally better as far as 3D TV viewing is concerned, but when considering display size you really need to think your the home environment. Room size is what counts as well as budget. You're unlikely to get the benefits of a huge screen in a small room, so you need to make the choice based on what will fit and where you can sit in proximity to the display. Also the bigger screens tend to make small flaws in pictures more obvious the closer you sit. The ideal seating distance looks to be around 3 or 4 times the height of the TV. Getting a good balance is essential for the best viewing experience, and ideally it's best to aim to get a 3D TV that can fill your vision, but be positioned at a distance that still gives sharp and clear images. As an example, the minimum seating distance recommended by Panasonic for their 65 inch model is 8 feet.

5. Get The Best Deals - Pricing Levels of 3D TVs

Prices of 3D TVs are falling all the time, though of course there is a wide spread in pricing between the cheapest and the highest quality models. If you think back to the introduction of HD Tvs, initial prices of those were sometimes in the $10,000 range. That's vastly different now, with many available at less than $1000. When Samsung released the first of their plasma 3D TVs the 40 inch set cost roughly a third more than the equivalent 2D set, but now the cheapest 3D TV is very close in price to a standard 2D HD. Prices start at around $600 - $700. The new PlayStation 3D TV - due to be released late in 2011 - will reportedly retail for around $500.

6. Know What You Can Watch - 3D Content Availability

There are a number options for watching 3D content on your new 3D TV. These include either watching 3D Blu-ray discs via a Blu-ray Player, streamed content via 3D TV channels or 3D video on demand services, or by taking advantage of the 2D to 3D conversion capability that's built in to various 3D TV models. I don't propose to cover these in depth here, just click on any of the links for more info.

7. Summary - How Do You Tie It All together

I've simplified it in some areas, but you can see there are a number of choices to make if you are considering whether to take the plunge and buy a 3D TV now. The best option, certainly for anyone new to 3D TV, is to first spend some time studying. Read up on the technology at a site like 3DTVGuide.org, study a number of real buyer reviews at Amazon, and then visit a store that carries a wide range of demo models and try them out live. With such a huge choice of 3D TVs to work with, that's pretty much the only way you'll guarantee to get a set that suits you best and meets your needs, at a price you're comfortable with balanced against the quality you'll receive.

As far as the future goes, we're not far off the point where we don't say ''3D TV'' any more. We just say TV, because that's what we all expect a TV to be capable of. 3D TVs are still very much at the start of their journey. Successful mass acceptance cannot be achieved without focus long term focus and relentless attention to innovation and persistent development, two qualities which the TV manufacturing industry clearly possesses in abundance.

To date, philosophize that utilizes 3D technology has to undergo post production processing to be rendered specifically for people to idea without needing classes. recent TV technology though will allow "sincere time" events to be captured and then transmitted in 3D, without the need of special 3D glasses.

Sporting events, cultural events or even weddings and anything else that can be filmed will surely succor from this unusual TV technology that will allow accurate time 3D filming. Currently there are relatively few 3D TVs out there, and very tiny 3D teach is being produced. intriguing though that Europeans are getting into the 3D TV craze, but until the accurate time 3D filming becomes utilized, Americans and Europeans alike calm need to dawn goofy 3D glasses to properly befriend from viewing 3D tell.

Until now, glasses free proper time 3D TV production is not affordable, but researchers in Germany are trying to fix that. Auto stereoscopy, which is the technology of 3D television without the need of glasses, is quiet being perfected, and the secret unhurried the technology is quite bright to say the least. How does the technology work all To do 3D viewing the show has special optical foils that reveal each search for of a person a different image, this tricks the brain of the viewer into seeing images that appear to pop-out at them. For this to work numerous camera angles of each image needs to be generate of high quality, and this processes makes 3D production extremely time curious and expensive.

Unfortunately this novel TV technology may choose awhile for it to be affordable, currently it fair isn't practical to consume 10 or more cameras to film 3D images that autostereoscopic video requires. The Fraunhofer Heinrich Hertz Institute of Berlin has a 3D analyzer project that is managed by a Mr. Frederik Zilly. Zilly said that the bandwidth requirements for 3D videos are unbiased so big that they needed to form something to address the yell of bandwidth.

Under Zilly's direction a stereoscopic analyzer was developed called STAN, it can accurate standard 3D images in right time which can create live 3D broadcasting affordable. This recent TV technology can generate more than 20 views of the same video scene from various viewpoints, making it possible and effective for glasses free 3D viewing, and making the production of 3D announce less time inspiring.

The team at Fraunhofer had presented the autostereoscopic original TV technology at the novel International Broadcasting Convention in Amsterdam. Although the fresh STAN version works offline, Zilly said he plans to demonstrate a accurate time version of this technology during next year's convention. At the moment consumer electronics companies are snappily trying to effect autostereoscopic displays in anticipation to meet the future inquire of for glasses free 3D bellow.

The Best LG 3D TV Review 2012

LG 3D TV Review
The latest craze in home entertainment systems are 3D TVs. Not only does this format of entertainment require a compatible novel TV, but also 3D-ready hardware, of course the costly 3D glasses for each viewer, and also genuine 3D yell to peruse. To promote this technology, TV makers are offering consumers chunky bundles to jump legal into the 3D explosion.

Manufacturers Samsung, Sony and Panasonic have already produced 3D TV models along with the important peripherals, and LG is now the latest to jump on the bandwagon. As piece of their promotional bundle, LG is offering - according to their press release - two free pairs of 3D "active shutter" glasses to anyone who purchases either the LG LX9500 or LX6500 LED HDTV combined with the LG 3D Blu-ray Disc Player from participating retailers. There's also an instant cash rebate and a bonus certificate to receive a Blue-ray 3D video title. Clearly, LG is going the extra mile to back consumers to derive bent onto 3D.

The bundles mild cost a delicate penny, though, and the least expensive LG 3D TV promotion compares very similarly to bundles offered by competitors Samsung who also offer a near-identical 3D "starter kit" package. In general, all the vast players offer the 3D glasses at comparable prices, but the downside is that they are not compatible across brands. So if your friend comes over with his Sony 3D glasses to glance a movie on your LG 3D TV, well, tough luck, but that's not going to work.

The method the technology works is different from that in movie theaters, too, so you can't impartial bring home those red-and-blue cellophane polarizing glasses and ask them to work for your home 3D TV quite the same diagram. It's downhearted that the polarized light technology is not being readily adopted by first generation 3D TV manufacturers, because it's tranquil the best and cheapest scheme to obtain a rich 3D viewing experience with agreeable colors and top-notch detail.

However, LG says that it's in the process of developing 3D-ready televisions that are based on this polarized light technology, so the two formats may eventually converge in the future. For the moment, though, these first-generation 3D TVs calm require the separate, and expensive, viewing glasses, which are more cumbersome and electronically-powered.

There is another technique that allows for 3D viewing without the glasses, fortunately. This technique is called auto stereoscopy and although it's been around for a while, it has some limitations, but a decent 3D image can be obtained on flat panel displays using lenticular lenses or parallax barriers. LG announced a 3D TV in the works, named M4200D, that uses a lenticular-lenses system; however, there is a rather cramped viewing distance (about 13 feet)  for the 3D achieve to really work in this plan. tranquil, it's early in the game, and as further developments are made, one hopes that the 3D TV experience will win more and more accessible.

Conclusion

Innovation and development in the 3D TV field continues fervently, with LG and other manufacturers pumping sizeable budgets into R&D around this technology. As options increase and the competition grows fiercer, consumer options for viewing 3D reveal at home are definite to increase while prices are likely to salvage more and more affordable.

The mind is under the impression that its viewing two different images on the veil, from 2 different angles. The same 2 viewing images as your eyes. This fools your brain into seeing depth. legal now Television companies can project those 2 pictures on to one conceal at the same time without making them unclear and its to expensive to have 2 different TVs for each spy. So they came up with two main ways to trick your brain into seeing focused 3D images on one cloak.

3D TVs currently falls into two separate categories. 3D movies you can conception with polarized glasses and 3D television you can notion with shutter glasses.

This is how active shutter functions. The glasses are fueled by batteries and our linked to an emitter in your 3D TV. The emitter in your Television uses info-red signals that tells your lenses to either stop or begin. Such as a window shutter. This is possible because of hasty flashing left and just images on the camouflage. It happens over 100 times a second. This is why its nearly impossible to turn your LED TVs or a Plasma television into 3D. This is referred to as HZ. Also known as the refresh rate.

Alright so your aware about active shutter glasses, but that's not the only diagram to peek 3D. If you've ever been in the movie theater and seen a 3D movie then chances are you were wearing polarized glasses, unprejudiced like shutter glasses. Polarized lenses lets you glance different slightly off-set images in each ogle. Tricking your mind into seeing 3D, Movie theaters have two different projectors flashing both proper and left pictures on the mask. Its not blurry because the left lens only lets your left notice witness only the left the left describe and the correct lens only lets your glance scrutinize the proper narrate and remember polarized lens dont need to be battery powered or synchronized, they're passive.

TV Technology - LCD Vs LED Vs 3D Made Simple

TV Technology - LCD Vs LED Vs 3D

If you are not clued-up on the modern TV technologies, it can be overwhelming when trying to understand, and settle from, all the choices out there. Which is best for what you are looking for in a TVall LCD, LED or 3D?  If only the acknowledge was so simple! Unfortunately there are many types of each of the above mentioned categories which means a long-winded comparison with many headings and sub-headings is distinct to follow, but is that any more excellent than merely reading the specs (that you hardly understand)  of different models you are alive to in?  Probably not! So let us try simplifying the comparison of these technologies for those of us who are not technology gurus and purely want some basic, solid advice in our accelerate in shopping for our perfect TV.

LCD TVs

LCD TVs are television sets that exhaust Liquid Crystal show technology to form images. This energy efficient technology makes spend of liquid-crystal-filled cells that are placed between two sheets of glass and a fluorescent backlight. The light is shone onto thin film transistors that allow varying amounts of light to pass through the liquid-crystal-filled cells. The liquid crystals are light-sensitive -- the more light they receive, the darker they become. Images are then displayed on the hide in monochrome or colour by means of the colour filters that receive the light intensity from the liquid crystals.

Pros:

  • Thin, light available in astronomical sizes.•    Energy efficient.•    Largely produced and available.

Cons:

  • Lower incompatibility ratio -- less detail in gloomy areas of characterize.

LED TVs

LED TVs are technically a member of the LCD TV family. The exhibit hide on a LED is a liquid crystal expose the same as it is on any other LCD TV. The main disagreement between the two lies within the different backlighting techniques which may change the relate quality characteristics dramatically.

Where LCD TVs expend some produce of fluorescent lighting, LED TVs utilize Light Emitting Diodes to light the LCD panel. objective as there are different styles of fluorescent lights in faded LCD TVs, there are also different styles of LED backlighting. In some LED TVs there is a panel of LED lights late the LCD panel. These LEDs are tri-coloured and can be controlled in banks for an execute called "local dimming". This allows darker areas of the record to have the backlighting dimmed gradual them resulting in better dissimilarity and murky levels. Other LED TVs are functionally similar to passe LCD TVs. In these TVs, the LED lights are surrounding the edge of the panel, allowing for a very slim depth but without the ability to do local dimming.

Pros:
  • Thin, light available in gigantic sizes.•    Higher dissimilarity ratio -- wonderful detail in characterize.
  • Tri-coloured LEDs accomplish for more realistic colours on cover.•    'Edge-surrounding' LED TVs consume less energy than LCD TVs.

Cons:
  • Expensive.
  •  'Local-dimming' LED TVs consume more energy than LCD TVs.

3D TVs

A 3D TV is a television situation that employs techniques of 3D presentation. To understand how we scrutinize a 3D image, we must understand that our eyes are two separate lenses that register two differently-angled images of an object which are sent to the brain, attach together and made into one three-dimensional relate in your mind. Making screens note 3D images is based on a similar mechanism, but is divided into two categories -- Stereoscopic TVs (which require special glasses to spy 3D images)  and Autostereoscopic TVs (which appear 3D without special accessories) .

Stereoscopic TVs require the expend of either shutter or polarized glasses. Both kinds of glasses have the same main expend -- they employ the lenses to exhibit each notice a different image which are then processed by the brain to develop one three-dimensional image in your mind.

Autostereoscopic TVs rely on either lenticular lenses or parallax barrier. Lenticular lenses are slight cylindrical plastic lenses that are pasted on a transparent sheet, which is then stuck on the exhibit surface of the LCD shroud. These lenses magnify the images on the cover and when looking at the original cylindrical images, each seek sees different 2D images which are combined by the brain to obtain one 3D image. Parallax barrier is a beautiful grating of liquid crystal placed in front of the camouflage, with slits in it that correspond to definite columns of pixels of the thin film transistor mask. These deliberately placed slits lisp light from each image slightly differently to each contemplate, again creating a 3D image in the brain.

Pros:
  • High refresh rates obtain for composed, rich viewing.•    Autostereoscopic TVs allow the parallax barrier to be turned on/off -- 3D and 2D viewing in one.

Cons:
  • Picture seems darker due to less light reaching eyes because of glasses.•    Glasses are inconvenient and win away the simplicity of watching TV.•    Autostereoscopic TVs have a viewing 'sweet spot' and the recount will be distorted if the viewer sways from this region.•    Noted health risks; especially in children, pregnant women and the elderly.

So where does this leave you, the consumer, in your decision in buying a television?  This is impartial a open to the process. There are obviously more aspects to contemplate when comparing TV technologies such as; functional considerations, response time, refresh rate, longevity and cost of specific models you are keen in. But at least now you can open on your informed expedition!
