Pros and Cons below, but one feature I was not prepared for that has been great, LG Cloud. Its a free 5Gb video, 2GB photo service. I can upload videos (including xvid) from my computer or phone and play via the cloud on my TV. Absolutely love that.

• TruMotion, when used for stuff like sports and other high motion video (this is also a con, see below)

• Price. I called and got the price dropped $120 to match BestBuy. Well worth it when you pay no shipping or tax (Prime)

Cons

• No Amazon Instant (at least not on the 47")
• No Magic Remote, which was in the description, but not with the 47" at least.(The Magic Remote does not come equipped with all LG Smart TV enabled TVs and a separate purchase may be required.)
• TruMotion was on by default. It makes regular TV look kind of like a Soap Opera, that kind of cheesy looking filming, can't think of a better way to explain it. I turned it off.
• Picasa App doesn't seem to work, every time I click on an album the app closes.

Overall, the cons are about what I thought was included based on the description and 1 setting very easily turned off. The TV is a great, inexpensive Smart/3D TV. Nothing really I can complain about. LG LE5500 LED LCD TV Review

With any LED LCD television it's important to remember that they are LCDs using LED backlights instead of the traditional fluorescent tube lighting. The panels remain the same and still employ the liquid crystal diode technology where the crystals are 'twisted' to regulate the amount of light through the screen.

In terms of appearance, the LE5500 is built in a rose wood colour, which personally I'm a fan of as they look great in traditional homes, but may not suit a modern or contemporary room. The unit is very sleek at only 1.2 inches in depth and weighs in at 63 pounds (just less than 30 kilogram's) without the stand. The heavy solid stand rotates up to 20 degrees from the centre and supports the TV firmly.

Being LED lit, the panel features a local dimming option, where bulbs can be dimmed or brightened in different areas independently to improve on black levels. Unsurprisingly then, the black levels were very good and potentially better than some plasmas on the market right now.

Light emitting diodes also use less power than fluorescent bulbs, which is great news for your electricity bill. LG makes the most of this low power consumption by including energy saving features such as the ability to turn off screen when listening to music and an intelligent sensor function that automatically adjusts the brightness and color of the picture as the light in the room changes.

Connectivity wise, the unit has four HDMI inputs, USB 2.0 access, two component inputs and a 15 pin D-sub computer input. It also features two 15 watt internal speakers, which did sound a little tinny and hollow but no more than other TVs in its class.

The panel features TruMotion 240Hz - a super fast refresh rate that works great for sports viewing. However, this will did require some judder reduction and motion blur adjustment to work well. While this isn't too hard a task, this could be a major drawback for the less A/V literature consumer.

Unfortunately there's no direct remote control button for turning the TruMotion feature on or off either, which can mean arduous series of menus as you switch between sports and normal viewing.

The color rendition was very impressive and images are realistic with deep colors from a wide color gamut. The viewing angle was also impressive with contrast degradation appearing around 45 degrees of centre, which was a good result.

The TV also features wireless connectivity with a range of video sites, including Netflix, and YouTube, and is Skype integrated, allowing you to make free internet calls without the use of a PC.

At around $1400 for a 42 inch, the LG LE5500 is priced in the mid-range and suitably so. It is an attractive TV with some great features such as LED edge lighting and a range of internet connectivity. While its picture quality, black levels and color ranges aren't cutting edge, they are very good for the average consumer and compete well with its closest competitors, the Samsung UN55C6500 LED TV or the Sharp LC-52LE820U.

With 3D movies now starting to storm the box office (think Avatar, Star Trek, Monsters inc etc) it was probably obvious that a similar surge in demand for home 3D would follow. Certainly there needed to be the content for home 3D but now that seems to be hitting the market with 3D Blu Ray DVDs and satellite content, the race for 3D TV dominance is on.

In my opinion, some of the early 3D TVs were put out to market a little too early, before the technology was 100% sound. For example, if you were watching fast paced action and an image came out of the screen towards you it could blur quite significantly. I found this to be a particular problem in the lower corners of the field of vision.

The only thing that is certain is change and 3D TV technology continues to change and move forward at great pace. The new LG Infiniatm range introduces yet another leap forward with 480Hz technology.

The new LG Infinia LX9500 47 Inch 3D TV takes picture quality to a new and stunning level. What's changedall Well, it's still 1080p (the current maximum), but with a screen refresh rate doubled to 480Hz it brings a stunning new picture clarity. It's true I have a habit of "biggin" up LED and HD TV, but LG have produced something worth "biggin" up here!

I honestly didn't believe pictures could get better over the top of the range Samsung 240Hz 1080p, but LG have managed it. And it is most noticeable in the 3D space.

Obviously the competition will have to catch up to 480Hz as well. But, a current top of the range Samsung at 240Hz is still hovering around $5k. At the time of writing the LX9500 comes in at just $3.3k. How have LG managed it?

Based on that LG are going to be tough to beat in this new higher end LED/3D market. And, LG are doing all they can to dominate. I was having a Skype chat with my HD Buddy in the U.K, Brad. Sky TV are the biggest satellite broadcaster over there and have just announced that they have made LG their 3D TV partners in the U.K. Sky dominate the satellite market in many European countries and this deal will give LG a massive sales kick in Europe.

The LG Full LED 3D TV Infinia LX9500 is a stunning piece of kit and surprisingly easy to use and set up. In truth, it's about time LED set up was made a little simpler.

The LX9500 is a direct lit model as opposed to edge lit. Normally direct lit TVs are thicker but at 31mm this set again moves technology a step forward. It also comes with LG "Netcast" included. This gives you direct Internet Entertainment access, at last! I was also very impressed that for the price you also get two pairs of active shutter 3D glasses included.

This lets you get into 3D straight away and of course saves you a couple of hundred dollars or so into the bargain. Well done LG!

If you read the LG sales media, they are calling the 480Hz "TruMotion - a revolution in picture quality". I really can't argue. In particular the 3D picture is far clearer. As I have said fast-moving images that come towards you needed attention in 3D and for the most part this TV gets it right, and fast-action is now far better.

And, I think 2D pictures are improved as well. To be fair it's not as marked an improvement as the 3D pictures but it's just as amazing. In a way that doesn't really do the picture quality justice but I have run out of superlatives. I think I'm going to have to "tone down" some of my older writings as my descriptions are not keeping pace with the pictures improvements!

The pictures are brilliantly razor-sharp and the color is like the brightest sunny day you could image. Contrast with the blackest blacks I have ever seen, it really is the best TV viewing I have seen and I can't image how LG provide this quality at just over $3k

If you're thinking of joining the 3D revolution the LG Infinia LX9500 47 Inch 3D TV could not be a better starting point, it's an amazing viewing experience and a superb introduction to 3D TV - enjoy!

The first customer we interviewed was very please with the LG Cinema Screen 47LM7600. She was especially pleased with the stand which came with the TV. It was extremely durable and the television mounted without much issues. However, one issue the customer had with the LG Cinema Screen 47LM7600 was the screen matrix. She found it to be of low quality. What does this result in? A light and cloud effect for certain images. You can never miss this on a dark screen. That said, this issue did not really cause any huge problems with the overall television use.

Another customer commented that the magic remote feature was a little boring. In the beginning, she found it pretty cool because there was a now mouse cursor on her screen, but the excitement quickly died down when she no longer had any use for television apps. LG slowly but sure has proven its quality in manufacturing excellence HDTVs for the market. Before, it made wondrous work with both Plasma as well as LCD HDTVs and now, it started its reign on the LED market. The 47SL90 47-Inch 1080p 120Hz LED HDTV is recently launched by LG as one of their featured products. The product definitely looks sleek as it features a piano black finish with a very thin bezel. In fact, the bezel is only 1.15 inch thick which is significantly thinner than any LCD HDTV. This makes it a lot easier to place the product at confined places as well.

The LG 47SL90 is also a glass to glass LED HDTV. A specially designed laminated film is placed in front of the screen making it almost impossible to see the screen and the frame separately. In fact, it looked as if the screen is stretched from one end of the TV to the other end. This concept is definitely attractive and has yet to be seen with its other competitors giving it a good advantage in terms of design. The film also protects the viewers from any glare that may occur while watching the LED HDTV. However, this does not mean that there will be a great reduction in the brightness of the television. Instead, the film acts as a color enhancer as well thus creating a depth of color comparable to other premium HDTVs in the market.

Its contrast ratio of 3,000,000:1 also allows the LG 47SL90 to create a great level of black. However, due to its edge-lit design, there are chances that the HDTV will not be able to create a pure black sensation. This might actually be safer to the audience as well as there are claims that LED HDTVs designed with its LED facing directly to the audience may cause some eye problems.

Usage of LED instead of the normal CCFL lamps not only means that the 47SL90 is thinner but it also consumes less power as compared with the conventional LCD HDTV. In the long run, it may save the user a significant amount of money as well.

LG 42SL9000 LED TV Review

LG have a good reputation when it comes to listening what consumers want and the 42SL9000 is a prime example. The SL9000 series has been built with you in mind; from Bluetooth support to the huge selection of connectivity options, this HDTV is certainly one to watch.

Whilst the 42SL9000 might be missing an Ethernet port we found that the TV provides plenty of other ways of getting videos and images to the TV. LG have managed to merge functionality and beauty into their Borderless SL9000 series without forcing buyers to pay over the odds. The fabrication process gives the set a very minimal, yet modern, feel.

The slim line body of the panel still manages to house all the control buttons you need so if you lose your remote you can still control the TV manually. LG have made sure that, even if you do lose both remote commanders, the TV is still usable.

The on-screen menu system is quite simply one of the best we've tested so far. Not only are they easy to use but they have enough advanced features to keep even the most battle hardened flat screen enthusiast happy. The on board picture wizard provides a fast and effective way of setting up all your preferences with a few simple clicks of the remote. Preferences can be saved to memory which means that any changes you make can be easily rolled back. Another nice feature is the ability to rename your inputs making it easier to recall specific connections such as your PS3 port.

The 42SL9000 LED TV also comes with an eco-saving mode design to cut down on power consumption. Nothing new but definitely a welcome addition. At this point, the only weak spot on the TV is the EPG. Because the 42SL9000 has an onboard Freeview tuner, the number of channels visible in the planner make it hard to see exactly where you are. The SL9000 has been designed for simple set-up straight out of the box. Tuning is the television is simple as it's automatic and any updates require and pulled down in a flash.

The HD images aren't the best on the market but for the price it's pretty impressive - clear images with a succulent range of colours and shades. Motion control is the now standard 100Hz and does a very good job of handling fast moving scenes. The frame rate did produce a few blurs but this was a very rare occurrence. If you want flawless motion control you're going to have to pay up for another TV that features 200Hz technology and this isn't cheap.

The LED's arranged around the edge of the screen is one of the highlights of this TV. The LED's give you a pretty decent range and depth of blacks but, unfortunately, it can't compete with the likes of the KDL 46X45000. We did notice traces of light 'leaking' from the edge of the screen but only during the credits and very dark scenes. Sadly, the audio output of the 42SL9000 was lacking. We noted that input from external devices such as a home theatre resulted a loss of synch between video and audio playback. Once we turned off the TV's audio enhancements this annoyance simply disappeared.

Some critics have noted that the TV has a poor audio output but we thought it was fine for the price. What do we think all LG's SL9000 delivers an excellent mix of features and stunning looks. It's not cheap but, then again, LG's new breed of LED TV's provide a viable, and extremely capable, alternative to the more costly flat screens currently on the market. The audio synch problem was the only major frustration but we can live with it and we're sure that anyone wanting a cracking, highly capable LED TV will be more than happy with the LG 42SL9000.
