Which HDTV Should I Go For LDC, Plasma, LED Or 3D?

Which HDTV Should I Go For LDC, Plasma, LED Or 3D
Which HDTV Should I Go For LDC, Plasma, LED Or 3D
With so many HDTV options nowadays it is easy to get confused and end up making the wrong choice or one that doesn't stand up to your expectations.

First of all we need to understand the basics of each HDTV type. Today we have 4 types of HDTVs and they are: LCD, Plasma, LED and 3D, there is a fifth type which is OLED but the technology is in its infancy and you can only find OLED TV sets as big as 19 inches.

LCD High Def TV Sets:

Liquid Crystal Display Televisions (LCD TV) were first introduced by Sharp in 1998, but the liquid crystal display technology has been around since the 80's when it was mainly used in portable computers.

LCD TVs offer bright crystal clear images, super colour-filled pictures but not so good contrast ratio when compared to Plasma. Over the years LCD TV manufacturers have made great improvements on LCD TV's contract ratio but Plasma still lead the way in this category.

Colour accuracy of LCD TV sets are influenced by room light. LCD TVs perform better in brighter rooms due to anti glare technology and brightness. Another factor to consider is viewing angles, on average LCD HDTVs has around 120 degree viewing angles but they still have a long way to go before catching plasma.

On average these TV sets have an autonomy of 100,000 working hours which is about 50 years of use if they are turned on for 5 hours a day.

Plasma High Def TV Sets:

Plasma technology consists of hundreds of thousands of individual pixel cells. Each pixel cell is an individual microscopic light bulb that has a mixture of noble gases and a tiny amount of mercury. When these cells receive electric pulses the gases and mercury form plasma that produces light, illuminating the exact balance of red, green and blue phosphors of each cell which in turn will display the proper colour sequence from the light.

Plasma TVs have the best contrast ratio between all HDTVs, on average the latest Plasma HDVT sets have a contrast ratio of 5,000,000:1. Contrast ratio is a measure of the blackest black compared to the withest white. Plasma TVs can achieve outstanding black levels thanks to internal algorithms that block the power to particular pixels to render a darker pixel. The down side here is that this limits Plasma televisions gray scaling.

Plasma displays can reproduce as much as 16.77 million colours because as afore mentioned each pixel has red, green and blue elements needed to produce every colour in the spectrum. In short, Plasma TVs have the best colour accuracy of all HDTVs.

Another point in favour of Plasma TVs is viewing angles. Plasma manufacturers have nearly achieved perfection with viewing angles nearing the 180 degree mark. Also worth baring in mind that Plasma TVs are more suitable for darker rooms.

LED TVs

LED TVs are the new form of LCD TVs. These TV sets can produce images with greater dynamic contrast with a wider colour gamut and lower power consumption of at least 20-30% when compared to traditional LCD TVs.

LED backlighting allows these TV sets to be extremely thin, most models are approximately one inch think.

Many industry expert don't agree to label LED TVs as unique HDTV category because as afore mentioned LED TVs are simply LDC TVs with LED lights for back lighting instead of fluorescent CFL lighting.

LED TVs presented a solution to the low contrast levels found on traditional LCD TVs. By dimming the back light in areas where the screen should be dark it increases the black levels, consequently increase the contract ratio.

Colour accuracy is very similar to LCD TVs but LED TV has an advantage in displaying more realistic colours. Just like on LCD, LED TVs have very poor viewing angles.

3D Ready TV Sets

The latest on high definition TV, all major manufacturers are producing it with highlights to Sony and Samsung, which in my opinion are manufacturing the best 3D TV sets at the moment.

3D video technology has been around for ages but only now the technology has finally reached our homes. 3D TV sets are Full HD and have resolution of 1920X1080p, a refresh rate of 600Hz and usually support HDMI 1.4 or higher.

Now that you know everything there is to know about the HDTVs you are ready to out buy one that will suit your viewing needs.

VIZIO E420i-A0 Smart LED HDTV Review

VIZIO E420i-A0 Smart LED HDTV Review
VIZIO E420i-A0 Smart LED HDTV Review

VIZIO E420i-A0 Smart LED HDTV is excellent Smart TV in America. Introducing the new E-series slim frame design. The VIZIO E420i-A0 42-Inch 1080p 120Hz Smart LED HDTV is shattering the mold in a way only VIZIO can, with high-quality design and picture at the best value. Enjoy crystal-clear action and eye-popping images in 1080p Full HD and 120Hz effective refresh rate. A stunningly slim outer frame lets you enjoy TV with a narrower border around the picture for a more immersive experience. VIZIO Internet Apps with built-in Wi-Fi gives you instant access to a world of streaming movies, TV shows, music, and more -all with the push of a button on the smart remote. The VIZIO E-Series 42-Inch Class LED Smart TV gives you more of what you love about TV with all the brilliant picture quality and world-class service you’d expect from America’s LCD HDTV Company.

This is an incredibly well designed 42-inch Smart TV with a stunning picture, slim profile, plenty of useful apps, and absolutely low price. The only thing holding it back from being a perfect 5-star TV is the lack of a QWERTY remote to make proper use of the apps otherwise must buy separately  and having only 1 HDMI connection.

DESIGN
All black with a very slim bezel and less than 2" total depth. This thing is pretty sexy, especially for a "budget" TV. The stand will make some happy, other no so much. It's basically a fixed picture frame style where the TV itself sits directly on whatever surface you have it on. This gives it more of an all-in-one PC appearance than that of a TV. It sits at a fixed angle that I didn't care for at first, but it's actually the perfect angle for sitting on a kitchen counter, which is where I have it. At any rate, I like the design as does my fiancee. It looks much more high-end than its price would indicate. At less than 8 lbs and with a VESA 100 mounting pattern, you could easily and inexpensively mount this pretty much anywhere.

SET UP
Setting up the TV itself took about 5 minutes. Unboxed it, plugged it into the wall and cable box, turned it on and set up the WiFi. Everything worked perfectly. The picture calibration out of the box on "normal" was one of the most accurate default picture representations I've ever seen. I've been seeing this comment a lot with Vizio's new E-series line. This is rare, as I usually spend between 15 and 30 minutes tweaking the picture settings. About 2 minutes with this one and I was happy. Logging into the apps was more challenging than it should have been because VIZIO E420i-A0 Smart LED HDTV inexplicably doesn't include their nifty little QWERTY remote with this set. More on that in the Apps section below. All-in-all...pretty easy to set up. The lack of a 2nd HDMI port bothers me a bit. It's 2013 and everything connects via HDMI. Add a 2nd port, Vizio.

PICTURE
Having previously owned the 43 inch Samsung Plasma, I can definitely say the blacks are nicer on the Samsung, but that's be supposed to be a strength for a plasma TV. Being an LED, this VIZIO E420i-A0 Smart LED HDTV has more than adequate blacks in its display of HD and even standard channels. The overall display of standard channels on this VIZIO E420i-A0 Smart LED HDTV have a decent looking picture. HD movies are true 1080p and beautiful. The picture on this TV is stunning with vibrant colors and deeper blacks than I expected from an edge lit LED setup. The slim bezel really helps the picture pop and, as I noted above, the default picture settings are very accurate. There are several picture mode presets, including an eye-popping "vibrant" setting for those preferring boosted color saturation. I've never seen a TV of this size at any price point with a better picture.

SOUND
This set has stereo 2W front-firing speakers built-in which can be set to mono, stereo, or a simulated surround setting. If you're going to be gaming or watching movies on this set, you'll want a sound bar or a decent 2.1/3.1 setup, for everyone else these built-in speakers will suffice. I think the sound quality of this TV is adequate, not awesome, but adequate. If you're wanting an impressive home theater experience from an audio standpoint then I think a sound bar or a surround sound system would be the way to go here. When set on the simulated surround mode the sound stage is surprisingly wide to the point where it will occasionally bounce a sound so that is seems to be coming from behind you. It's nothing earth-shattering and there is no real bass, as expected, but as far as built-in TV speakers, they do a pretty good job. For my kitchen use of this TV, they're perfectly serviceable.

APPS
I have been waiting for this TV specifically because it's a 42" 1080p LED Smart TV. It is currently the only 42" Smart TV on the market. The apps available are most of the ones you would hope for; Netflix, Amazon video, Vudu, Hulu Plus, Rhapsody, Pandora, Facebook, Twitter, etc. Notably missing is HBO Go and MLB.tv, neither of which are currently available on any Vizio TV. The apps that are available respond quickly, and most can run while the current program is playing (you can tweet while watching the game, for example). With all of these great apps, I was absolutely floored that Vizio chose not to include it's QWERTY remote with this TV. It's a puzzlingly stupid decision as the lack of this QWERTY remote makes using the apps unnecessarily difficult. Once you're logged in to all of your apps, basic searching is OK, as the included remote is functional and responsive, but the lack of the QWERTY keyboard on the back makes using Facebook and Twitter highly unlikely, which is a shame because otherwise they are solid apps.

Functionality
The TV, out of the box takes about 15 minutes to set up if you're taking your time. The remote is a little small, but unless you have massive hands it shouldn't be an issue. When you go to turn on the TV it takes about 15 seconds from when you press the power button to when you see the screen display the picture. Maybe that's too long for some people, it doesn't bother me. The Wifi connection process is fast, smooth, and seamless. As far as the Smart TV features go, it's very non-invasive. Pops up at the press of the big "V" button midway up the remote and it displays the scrollable bar along the bottom of the screen with everything from Netflix & Hulu Plus to YouTube, Twitter, Skype, and Facebook.

Overall, I would say if you're looking to go bigger than the 40 inch range with a HDTV that really delivers in quality and performance without breaking the bank, then this is the TV for you!

This is an excellent no-frills smart TV. the picture is excellent and the sound is surprisingly good. While it is missing some features and has fairly limited menu options the excellent picture quality and built in apps make this well worth the low price.

After living with the TV for less than a week my main complaints are:
  • can't rename channels
  • no channel favorites
  • firmware updates seemed to wipe out most of the customization I'd done to the apps and widget dock
  • cheap remote without lighted buttons
  • Just one HDMI Connections
Pros VIZIO E420i-A0 Smart LED HDTV
  • great picture
  • decent sound (I had assumed I'd immediately need a sound bar but have decided I can wait for now)
  • built in Netflix, Amazon, etc.
  • attractive design with very thin bezel around the screen
  • large screen size for a low price

Vizio 55Inch LED Backlit LCD HDTV VF551XVT - First Impressions and Review

Vizio 55Inch LED Backlit LCD HDTV VF551XVT

Choosing a television these days isn't as simple as it used to be. There are many brand and every brand launch many type of product every years. The more research you do, the better chance you have of finding a TV that suits your needs at a price you can afford. The latest technologies have created a wide range of features and an even wider range of pricing in today's TV market.

I just recently purchased a new TV and you might benefit from my experience. In my instance I was using an older, low quality 58" Plasma TV and wanted to upgrade to better quality without going to a much smaller TV and stay within my budget. My budget was $1600 and there are plenty of decent TV's available in that price range. I Really liked the Sony 52" KDL-52VL150 and would have purchased it at Costco but I was so used to the large size of my previous 58" plasma I wanted to find something larger.

Once I saw the Vizio 55" LED Backlit LCD HDTV I knew I had to get it even though it was a few hundred more than I wanted to spend it was clearly worth it. The difference in quality from my 58" Plasma to my new 55" LED Vizio is the same as the difference between Standard Definition and my old plasma in my opinion. If you are thinking about upgrading your TV, now may be the time since there are many new features available on the Vizio 55" TRULED TV.

The LED backlight is truly amazing and creates an impressive amount of contrast using smart dimming which controls 80 individual blocks of LED's. The 240hz SPS is not a true 240hz refresh but the motion is the most noticeable improvement over my last TV. 240hz SPS Combined with 1080P resolution creates a picture that is absolutely unreal or should I say absolutely "real". If you are in the market for a new TV do yourself a favor and give the Vizio 55" TRULED TV a look. I think you will be impressed.

VIZIO XVT423SV 42-Inch Full HD 1080p LED LCD HDTV With VIA Internet Application Review

VIZIO XVT423SV 42-Inch Full HD 1080p LED LCD HDTV With VIA Internet Application Review
VIZIO XVT423SV 42-Inch Full HD 1080p LED LCD HDTV With VIA Internet Application Review
The VIZIO XVT423SV is the cheapest yet produces an advanced picture quality LED LCD HDTV. Packed with 42-inch screen capable of displaying a full 1080p image with a refresh rate set at 240Hz. That would mean brightness is more evenly distributed and black levels gain greater depth with the benefit of viewing a fast paced action scene or sport in blur free manner.

Even this is a new line compared to those well known brands based on the reviews it can play head to head with those famous brands. Since it contains the same features that other brands have actually it contains more. With its Wifi built in feature it stands out to those other products. You do not need to plug it on any server to use the internet. According to some users the Wifi feature is fabulous plus adds the Bluetooth Universal remote control, its perfect.

It has a TruLEDTM backlighting with Smart Dimming feature that can offer richer, darker blacks with better uniformity and at the same time brighter, bolder other colors. The speakers are not that exceptional however is more justifiable compared to those other brands that are more expensive. With this VIZIO XVT423SV you will still experience a high end audio quality especially if you have your own separate sound system, but if you do not have the built in speakers of this TV will do.

The best thing about this TV is that you can purchase it in a very affordable price unlike those other brands but then you will still be getting the same features. The bottom line is if you wanted to save some money, this new Vizio line is a very good choice. Why spend more when you can get it on lesser amount, talking about being practical.

With everything that it offers in a very reasonable price you will never regret purchasing this product. If you are still in doubt with this product try to read all those positive reviews and allow yourself to be convinced.

Smart TVs
Smart TVs
Smart TVs offer the web browsing and application capabilities of a smartphone with the spectacular display of a HD television. Currently internet enabled television sales are growing fast. These new televisions are pushing the boundaries of conventional pay-per-view TV and enabling far greater consumption of online video content. Many traditional television and cable networks are scrambling to meet demand for IPTV (Internet Protocol Television) and online pay-per-view content.

We have seen apps such as Angry Birds and Spotify literally blow up in popularity across mobile devices and the same potential is there for Smart TVs. IP-delivered services will become hugely popular via Smart televisions. Ordering shopping, pizzas and paying utility bills using your television will become common place within the next 5 to 10 years.

Families will use TV apps for cooking, gaming, music and anything else they find interesting. Even businesses across the world will use television apps to work together in a variety of ways. Cloud based services for businesses which are accessible from a television could be very beneficial for global business, the potential is enormous.

New Smart TVs

Panasonic has launched a range of Smart TVs called "Smart Viera", which focus on consumers being able to communicate better using services such as Skype. These new televisions will also offer Facebook access, various apps and games. The new models will come in 2D and 3D. One of the first apps to be released includes a fitness game which comes with Body Media Fit accessory. The accessory acts as a health and food monitor which can be synced with an online account specific to your needs and to help you along as you go.

Samsung have also launched their own versions which allow access to Facebook, Twitter and full web browsing along with 2D and 3D viewing capability. The new Samsung range incorporates what it calls a "Smart Hub" interface to easily navigate and use social networks and other well-known portals. The electronics maker has also designed an easy to use touch screen remote for surfing the net, watching TV and playing games. The "Smart Hub" interface enables viewers to find and download music and movie content. Samsung's marketing manager, Corrie Labuschagne said "Samsung expect to sell 12 million Smart TVs in 2011 alone".

The next generation TVs offer benefits to parents because they allow for tighter parental controls to protect children against unsuitable content. Using a wireless router you can set parental controls to restrict access to social networks, adult, illegal content and video sharing sites. You can even only allow access to sites such as Facebook during a certain time of the day and change access controls from anywhere with an internet connection.

Smart TVs are the next big thing in home entertainment they allow for all the same engagement and interaction as a laptop or home computer on a much bigger screen with better picture quality. The adoption of this new technology will certainly mean families and friends will benefit from new entertainment experiences in the comfort of their own homes.

Sony BRAVIA XBR-55HX292 Review: 55 Inch Full Array LCD LED 3D HDTV

Sony BRAVIA XBR-55HX292 Review
Sony BRAVIA XBR-55HX292  Review
Sony has launched its long awaited 3D LED TVs. One has a 46 inch screen while the other has a 55 inch one for the ultimate viewing experience. If you are a Sony fan then this is the TV of your dreams, and if you have not been one up until now, this Sony XBR-55HX929 should convert you into one.

Overview

Even without having the TV on the Sony XBR-55HX929 looks chic and stylish, with its flat screen (1.5 inches thick) on its stand. Of course it can also be wall-mounted if you prefer. The picture is superb with 1080 pixels-all of which function- there are no 'dead' pixels. It has sharp colour contrasts and you can adjust the depth of the 3D content for the ultimate 3 D experience. In 2D you still have the same excellent picture quality. It has Internet connectivity and you can stream music and videos, which look - good even the low-resolution ones look sharp and crisp. Both of the sets in the Sony HX929 series are excellent buys, but for the real feel of a cinema in your own home the Sony XBR-55HX929 is best. This high definition 3D TV works with Sony active shutter glasses as does the smaller one in the Sony HX929 series.

Installation

If you know what you are doing and are technologically savvy, then you can install it yourself, although I always find that a professional does the best job. If you want it wall-mounted, then you should call in an expert. If however you want it freestanding then you can install it yourself.

Pros

The picture quality is second to none, as you would expect from a brand new Sony. You can go to a store which is displaying the Sony XBR-55HX929, the equivalent Samsung and LG models, and decide for yourself which picture is the sharpest. The Sony stands out. It is thin and elegant and looks good even when switched off and unlike the Samsung and LG plasma screens it doesn't leave a "shadow"

Cons

The instructions were a little tricky to follow for me, but I called in a friend who fixed it for me, so if you have a little more know-how than I do the instructions can be followed.

The price is the major drawback I suspect for many, but the quality and the features you get with the Sony XBR55HX929 and the smaller screened one in the Sony HX929 series are arguably worth the extra cost.

Take the acid test and go to a tore and spot the Sony XBR-55HX929 it really does stand out from the rest, which makes it value for money.

Samsung UN55B8000 55-Inch LED HDTV Review

Samsung UN55B8000 55-Inch LED HDTV Review
Samsung UN55B8000 55-Inch LED HDTV Review
Remember the time when flat panel TVs started to take over the old bulky CRT TVsall Well the second wave of change is coming. LED HDTVs will soon take over conventional LCD and plasma HDTVs. LED HDTVs are super-thin, uses very little energy and produces superb video quality. It will be just a matter of time before they take over the HDTV market. Currently, the Samsung UN55B8000 LED HDTV series has been touted as on of the best in the market. Here is a quick look at the 55-inch model.

Design: Firstly, it must be mentioned that the Samsung UN55B8000 55-inch LED HDTV looks just stunning. This model is just 1.2-inches thick at its thickest point, giving it an amazing side profile. On the front, it has a glossy black surface that is decorated with a thin layer of transparent acrylic/plastics along its edges. It rests on a transparent stalk that connects it to a brushed-metal stand. The chic design and looks of this model is on its own a good enough of a reason for you to get one of these.

Features &  Performance: Like most high-end Samsung HDTV models, the Samsung UN55B8000 comes with Yahoo Widgets. When connected to the internet, it allows you to access a variety of online content such as streaming videos from YouTube. For connectivity, it comes with a wide array of connectors that include 4 HDMI ports and 2 USB ports on the side. The video quality on this model was as expected, nothing short of amazing. The black levels on this model matched those of some of the best plasma HDTVs in the market. The colors were accurate and watching fast action sequences was a flawless experience. Like most LED HDTVs, the 55-inch Samsung UN55B8000 is currently a little more expensive that regular HDTVs. If you can afford the hefty price tag, this LED HDTV would definitely be worth the investment!

If you after the latest in HDTV technology then this model will not let you down and it beats Sony's price by $2000. I'll just mention a few of the sweet features this TV has.

1) 1.5" thick- Yes that's right it is about the same thickness as a deck of cards! The reason for this is because this new generation uses LED's instead of LCD or Plasma so there is no need for light bulbs in this one.

2) Super COOL- The Samsung UN55B8000 55-Inch 1080p 240Hz LED HDTV not only looks cool but it actually STAYS cool. Because it doesn't use Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamps (those are light bulbs for us simple folk) that means that it doesn't heat up at all.

3) 240 hz refresh rate- Most TV's refresh in the 60hz-120 hz range so the images get blurred more easily. With 240 hz fast motion images appear ridiculously clear.

4) Energy Efficient- The Samsung UN55B8000 55-Inch 1080p 240Hz LED HDTV is almost 40% more energy efficient than standard LCD and Plasma HDTV's. This is again due to the revolutionary LED technology that does not use light bulbs.

5) Do you like Gamesall- This TV features game mode which enhances dark areas, sharpens the picture, speeds up the image processing response. Basically it makes your games even better to play than they already are.

Samsung UN46B8500 46-Inch 1080p LED HDTV Review
Samsung UN46B8500 46-Inch 1080p LED HDTV Review
HDTV technology has developed in so many ways these days. Previously, the market was packed with Plasma as well as LCD HDTV. But now, another technology has emerged and it is called LED. Samsung is one of the manufacturers trying to deliver the best LED TV for their hungry market. The Samsung UN46B8500 46-Inch 1080p HDTV is the manufacturer's new high definition LED television. Samsung has certainly paid a lot of attention in the design of this HDTV as it comes with a piano black finished with a crystal neck stand. This subconsciously gives the product a sense of elegance and power.

Coming with the unit is 2 remote controls. The main remote utilizes radio frequency rather than the traditional Infra-red making it almost impossible to use it with a universal remote. However, do not fret as the mini version of the remote uses the IR technology making it compatible with most universal remotes. Customers that still want to have an IR main remote can call to the Samsung Customer Service and they will give an IR remote for free.

Like most HDTV today, the Samsung UN46B8500 46-Inch 1080p HDTV is a Full HDTV. This means it is possible to watch HD movies as well as using it as a computer monitor at a total resolution of 1920x1080 pixels. Because this technology allows more pixels to be placed on a screen, the picture quality is a lot sharper as compared with a HD-ready television or a standard definition. The picture quality of the product is simply stunning. By utilizing the local dimming concept instead of the edge-lit, the unit is able to produce an outstanding contrast ratio of 7,000,000:1. Getting deep blacks are definitely achievable with this product and can be compared with Pioneer high-end Kuro plasma TV. In addition to that, images produced by this LED HDTV are sharp as well.

The sound quality for the product on the other hand is decent for casual watching. Although it is in compliance with SRS TruSurround HD, do not expect that the television would replace a decent home theater.

However, the 46-inch LED HDTV is not for rooms of all sizes. It may be great for a living room but definitely not recommended to have in a small room. This is because the set is rather big for these types of rooms. Therefore, for these rooms, it is recommended to go for a 32-inch set instead. The viewing experience stays the same but it has less impact on the pocket as well.

Before I forget, I need to remind you that you can also place Yahoo! Widgets on this UN46B8500, because this HDTV sports the Medi@2.0 Internet@TV. However, there are claims that the program takes a while to load. One more thing to consider about this HDTV, you can play HD clips from YouTube, while HD TiVo doesn't have this unique feature. The Samsung UN46B8500 46-Inch 1080p HDTV is worth to consider LED HDTV to buy. It offers premium quality experience at a decent price. However, do bear in mind that most LED HDTVs are costlier as compared with their LCD counterparts. Unless the budget allows, having an LCD instead of an LED might not seem like a bad option as well.

Numerous users also enjoyed the trendy and contemporary look of the Television and thought it looked at home in almost any location, a much better looking TV compared to many available out there.

One more positive feature which has been mentioned upon is the user-friendly menu system, that makes it quite easy to work with.

Cons

The quality of sound has been a big disappointment to a lot of buyers who mentioned that the built-in audio speakers were inadequate, and that the actual sound came out of the rear of the television.

An additional frequent complaint with this particular Samsung is a problem with uneven backlighting, or bleeding around the perimeters of the Television screen whilst watching darker scenes. These people said that it makes bright spots on screen, and it is only improved upon if the TV is watched in a well lit room, and is a big problem when viewing Television with the lights within the room off or dimmed.

Various other owners had difficulties with the Auto Motion Plus feature, and commonly found that it made the viewing "choppy". Other individuals just didn't like the remote control as they thought that it was too jam packed, and hard to use.

The Samsung 6300 HDTV is most without doubt up there together with the best when it comes to vivid hues, crystal clear, sharp Hi-def TV and all round image quality.

The graphical user interface is very easy to manage and navigate, as easy as ABC. So many improvements have been made to make your experience fun, easy and exciting. Gamers need not worry. They have been left out and forgotten when this TV was in the conception and design process. A very large market is composed of gamers so it is only right that they be given what they need. Gamers' special needs are taken into consideration without any aspect forgotten.

Bad Points of the Samsung LN55C650 55-Inch 1080p 120 Hz LCD HDTV (Black)

The TV practically has no bad points when we are speaking about features. It simply is very good and the very high ratings given by users will vouch for that. What can be more credible than the testimonies of people who have personally used and experienced the productall The only thing that they lament about is the expensive price. True, the TV does cost more than most that are on the market but I can say with conviction that it is worth the price. I'd rather pay more to get quality than pay a cheap price and get something which is inferior quality. We have to pay the price for quality and superb viewing experience right? Hundreds or satisfied customers can attest to that.

Samsung LED HDTV

Samsung LED HDTV
Samsung LED HDTV
If you've not been watching the television market regularly, you'll probably be in for a surprise when it comes time to purchase a television. A Samsung LED HDTV will eventually be the choice that you arrive at, if you do your homework.

Obviously you've seen HDTV, DLP, LED, LCD, Plasma, Projection, and many other acronyms and descriptions that you may or may not understand. The manufacturers don't just put these tags on their equipment to confuse you, there's just a lot happening in the world of HDTV.

I mentioned buying a Samsung LED HDTV for a reason, actually for several reasons. We all obviously want the best image reproduction possible when purchasing a television. When you buy an HDTV you are getting the best possible resolution if you purchase a 1080p device, but that doesn't mean the actually image being displayed is gong to be the best, only that the amount of data (pixels) used to generate the image is the best you can buy. Even a 1080i image uses the same data, but it refreshes differently.

When/If you buy a Samsung LED HDTV, you're also ensuring that you've also bought a screen that is capable of producing the best image possible with all of that data.

Most people have heard of plasma displays, and they do offer a good picture, but they also have a relatively short life expectancy, and can't produce an image comparable to a new Samsung LED HDTV.

So, what is all the hype about all LEDs (light emitting diodes) have been around for a long time. However, it hasn't been until fairly recently that they have been advanced to the point they can now be used in higher power applications. Now they're used in street lights traffic control lights, flashlights, automotive lights (brake lights etc.), and now in HDTV displays, just to name but a very few applications.

The reason Samsung is mentioned exclusively in this article, is because Samsung is completely dominating the LED HDTV world presently. They were in the lead developing the technology and they have not slowed down one bit in developing one fantastic Samsung LED HDTV after another.

So, whether you're looking for a DLP device, or maybe an LCD television, I would look seriously at a Samsung LED HDTV. With the LED technology, you can have an image that is up to 40% brighter, colors that are so much more vibrant, and blacks that are truly black.

Do your research before spending such a large sum of money, although the new LED HDTVs are very affordable. Know that if you buy a DLP set that isn't LED powered, you'll be replacing the light sources after a few years. Understand that when you buy an LCD HDTV that doesn't use LED technology, that you'll be getting a display that can be slow to respond to fast moving images, displays dark grays instead of blacks (Samsung has up to a 500,000:1 contrast ratio), and may have color 'bleeding.' It may look very acceptable, until it's compared directly to a Samsung LED HDTV.

Soon the industry standard will be utilizing LED technology as the primary light source in HDTVs. There is however, no reason to wait, unlike plasma technology for instance, don't expect the drastic price cuts on any Samsung LED HDTV. That's because they are using an older technology that has been advanced. You won't be paying for all of the research and development. Of course the same can be said of any of the major manufacturer's devices also.

Sony, as you would expect, is also becoming a player in the LED TV field, but, as in most of their other products, they are generally priced substantially higher than other similar HDTVs. There are also other brands entering the market, but it is being dominated by Samsung.
