The Best 3D TVs In 2010 - Pros and Cons of the 3 Best Selling 3D Televisions

The Best 3D TVs in 2010
Based on the current popularity of the 3D televisions available today, combined with information from top websites on consumer reviews, here is a list of the Top 3D TVs 2010, along with some apparent positive and negative points on each:

#1 - Samsung UN55C8000 - This model from Samsung is an LED design and a 55 inch screen. Retail price on this model is $3499.99. From a single website there were 23 consumer reviews, with an overall average of about 4 1/2 stars out of 5.

Positive: Apparently some previous versions of LED TVs had an issue with light being emitted from the corners of the screen. Per information from the top review that is not the case with this set. From this review there were a number of other positive remarks, mainly having to do with the stellar quality of the picture, the quality of 3D viewing as well as general overall looks.

Negative: One reviewer submitted a very detailed critique highlighting the pros and cons, with some complaints on the price tag, an issue with handling frames of movies when playing, sometimes not getting great results when converting standard definition movies, etc., to the high definition of the television. Generally this person stated that it was a good television for one of the first 3Ds, but could be improved on.

#2 - Samsung UN40C7000 - This Samsung 3D TV is also an LED design with a 40 inch screen. Retail price on this model is $1999.99. From two sites, 4 consumer reviews were submitted with an overall average of about 4 stars out of 5.

Positive: The most rave review came from a consumer who loved the color, clarity and general quality of the picture, said that there was excellent 3D viewing ("astounding") and overall loves the TV and says it's the best value for the money.

Negative: One consumer was actually quite unhappy with the purchase, saying that the picture seemed cloudy and "flashlighting" on the top left part of the screen. On a follow up report from the consumer, he or she stated that it was an issue with the LED.

#3 - Samsung UN46C7000 - This TV is the third on the list with an LED design with a 46 inch screen. Retail price for this television is $2599.99. From one single site, 9 consumer reviews were submitted with an overall average rating of 4 1/2 out of 5 stars.

Positive: The most "pro" review that I found stated that the visual effects of this television were stunning - and an important point that this reviewer mentions is the quality of the cables used to get the most out of the TV. (Suggested cable was a Monster 3D HDMI.) This addition made a big difference in the quality of the picture and also was quite happy with the way this model converts 2D movies into 3D.

Negative: One review had a complaint about the TV malfunctioning, and apparently a part needed to be replaced which caused the TV to sort of "take on a life of its own" and randomly bring up the menu and change the settings on the TV. This reviewer after taking the TV to a repair shop ended up needing to return it for a refund.

One thing that you may notice above - all the Top 3 3D TVs for 2010 listed here are from the same manufacturer. And as a matter of note, others on the "top" list are also from Samsung - apparently this company is ahead of the times when it comes to television technology!

This TV blew away my expectations of what an HD set should be. I’ve never seen colors so vivid and true to life on a TV before. I just picked up the Hopper through my job at DISH, and it gives me full HD and DVR to four separate rooms. The day I had the Hopper installed I only had three TVs so I decided to get number four and really take advantage of it. Now that we have four TVs with both HD and DVR, no one argues over timer conflicts anymore, and everyone can watch their shows or games in HD. Thanks so much for the recommendation on this Samsung!
